ABC Grey's Anatomy: Grey Sister's Roles Changing? Lexi Takes Lead with Meredith in Backgroung!

Last Thursday night, ABC Grey's Anatomy premiered kicking off season six with a double episode, which had so many surprises in store for viewers and Grey's Anatomy fans. One of the biggest surprises was that Meredith Grey really did not have much of a role in either of the two episodes especially when you compare how predominately both episodes featured Lexi Grey. Lexi Grey the young intern that used to be timid hiding from Christina Yang is stepping into bigger shoes as she becomes a first year resident at Seattle Grey's Hospital.

This does leave fans to wonder what is going on with the Meredith and Lexi Grey's roles. It is seems a little odd that one of the main stars that the show has centered around for years would take a back seat role in the two hour season premiere. Especially, the announcement of the merger at the end of the two hour episode that there will be job cuts from the merger, and the chief's advice for everyone to be one their best. Was it just a coincidence that Meredith had a smaller role than Lexi, or perhaps will Lexi stay and Meredith go? Fans what are your thoughts? Please post comments as to your thoughts as to why Lexi was more predominately featured than Meredith.

Lexi Grey did definitely take a lead and step into a featured role in this two hour premiere. Lexi sheds her timidness for boldness this year! Whether it is standing up to Yang or dealing with Callie, who steps over the line of a friend of Mark's especially with the shower scene. Lexi proves she is not afraid of boldly standing up for herself. Way to go, Lexi!

Grey's Anatomy: The ship keeps sinking - Superstar Moment

As we watched, all last season Chief Weber could not keep the hospital from sinking under his administration. The hosipital rating fell dramatically, and all his efforts to compete with Mercy West were catastrophic disasters that plumted the hosipital to new depths of problematic leadership.

Callie Torres here illustrates another moment were the chief makes a poor leadership decision when he chooses to keep an attending that is only a figure person over giving her the job that she rightfully deserves. Way to go for Callie to tell the chief just exactly what a mistake he is making by not hiring her!

Grey's Anatomy: Loss, Love, and Life

Last season of Grey's Anatomy ended with a clifhanger leaving two doctor's lives hanging in the balance between life and death. Izzy coded in Alex's arms, and the fear of losing her was to powerful that he thought to save her even after Izzy signing the DNR order. Meredith Grey realized that the John Doe that was hit by the bus that doctors were working hard to save was George O'Malley.

As fans, we've all being awaiting the season premiere to find out what will happen to Izzy and George especially after seeing the two of them getting on the elevator together at the end of last season, many of us knew that their fate's were linked somehow. Shockingly, Izzy lived while George did not. This was the first surprise that of the new season; however, the two hour premiere had many more surprises in story for us.

The first two eposides were filled with themes about lose, life, and relationships. Everyone in their own ways were dealing with the lose of a friend and colleague. At work, we become attached to those that we work with on a daily basis. These attachments become like a second family, and naturally it is hard to lose a close family member. Death and lose are a part of life; however, it is a part of life that we do not like to think about because it is scary to realize that life is fragile and precious. The hardest part about death is losing someone. Even the thought that there is a chance that you could lose a loved one can be frightening and fearful. We all love and become attached to friends and family. We cannot imagine living without these loved ones and friends the mere thought of losing someone that we love is fearful and frightening because we cannot imagine our lives without them as part of our life. Alex made this point so evidently clear in the scene, where he tells Izzy that she made him fall in love with her; then she died in his arms. Izzy line was so powerful as she said that is how you stay alive.

If you missed the season premiere, watch it online.
